Our Process


Our goal is to offer you a complete lighting solution, that is unique, informative, cost effective and above all, functional & visually stunning. Given that we spend more than 50% of our lives surrounded by lighting it is a key component of any build. It doesn't have to be a headache, in fact can be a very enjoyable process when the in the hands of the right lighting professionals.

We have two display showrooms in Sydney, staffed with our friendly and knowledgeable team, who are only too happy to pass on their expertise and help guide you through any lighting challenge. In a world of online retailers, we believe our face to face service is second to none.

Phase One – Scoping the Project

To kick things off, we require you to make contact with Robert Ruja, Director of Urban Lighting and Principle of Projects, via email. Information we will require is;

1) An overview of your lighting requirements

2) An electronic copy of any plans you have (PDF version preferable)

3) A monetary allocation you would like us to work within

4) Project time line

The button below will take you to our Lighting Plan Contact Page, please complete this page and Robert will make contact with you, to request a meeting in our showrooms, on site or at your home or office... whatever suits you.

The purpose of this meeting is to further establish your lighting preferences and provide you some insight into the unique designs and product placement Robert is renowned for.

Phase Two – Designing the Plan

This is where you relax for 5 minutes and leave things to us. In developing your plan we will:

* Create an itemised quote

* Build an easy to read plan, plotting the location of all lighting and switching

At this point, Robert will request a second meeting with you in the showroom so he can walk you through his design choices, show you different lighting effects and tweak the plan based on your feedback.


Phase Three - Confirmation & Ordering

Once you confirm the project, we will commence the ordering process. To do this, we require a minimum 50% deposit, with the balance due before collection or delivery.

Please make sure you are 100% satisfied with your selections before you commit to ordering them, as many of our specially imported lights from overseas cannot be cancelled once ordered or retuned once supplied.

At this time you may like to request your lighting plan be updated with measurements for your builder / electrician, so they are fully aware of product placement to commence rough in and hole cutting in the right places. A specified lighting plan can be significantly compromised if lights are not installed in the correct position/location.  

We have been around the block a few times in the last 40 years and fully aware that builds are ever changing and constantly hitting unforeseen roadblocks and challenges.
